HongKong,

Sir,

I have the honour to transmit for your information the enclosed copy of Three Resolutions passed by the

Enclosure in duplico

Committee of the HongKong Chamber of Commerce at their monthly meeting on the 10th instant, relating to the question of a reduction of Telegraph Rates between Eastern countries and Great Britain.

2. I understand that the HongKong Chamber of Commerce is acting in this matter in unanimity with other Chambers in India and elsewhere, and that, in the opinion of the commercial classes represented by those Chambers, the principle of cheap telegrams will result in an increase of trade between Great Britain and the East.

I have the honour to be,

The Right Honourable

JOSEPH CHAMBERLAIN, M.P.,

Sir,

Your Most Obedient

Humble Servant,
